Awning Fabric & Color Options.

// GuideFabric · Color · Printed GraphicsBy DMP Awnings

Your awning is the biggest branded surface on the trailer, so the fabric and color choice isn't just cosmetic — it's how your rig reads from across the pits or the show floor. DMP offers many color and fabric options, plus full-color digital printing built right into the cover. Here's how to think through the choice so your awning matches your rig and holds up to the way you run.

Choosing fabric

A trailer awning lives outdoors and travels at highway speed, so the fabric has to handle sun, wind, and repeated setup without fading or fraying. We'll walk you through the available fabrics and weights and steer you toward the right one for your application — a hard-running race awning and a vendor awning that lives at weekend markets don't always call for the same cover. Tell us how and where you use the trailer and we'll match the fabric to it.

Solid color vs. printed graphics

You've got two broad directions:

  • Solid color. Clean, simple, and timeless — pick a color that matches your trailer or team and you're done. Easiest to keep looking sharp over the years.
  • Full-color printed graphics. Your logo, sponsors, numbers, and artwork printed directly into the fabric. This turns the awning into signage and gives sponsors real estate they can see in photos and from the stands.

Plenty of teams do both — a base color with printed sponsor panels. There's no wrong answer; it comes down to how much you want the awning to advertise.

Matching your wrap & team colors

If your trailer is wrapped or your team runs specific colors, the awning should match — not "close enough." Because DMP handles your awning, printing, and trailer graphics under one roof, we keep the colors consistent across the whole rig. Send us your brand colors or wrap files and we'll line everything up so the awning, banners, and trailer read as one identity instead of three slightly different reds.

How digital printing works

Digital printing puts full-color art into the fabric rather than sticking it on top as a decal. The result is sharp, durable, and built to take a season of sun and weather without peeling or curling. You don't need finished artwork to start — bring print-ready files or just a concept, and our in-house graphic design team builds it print-ready before it goes on the printer. Read more about what we can print on the large-format printing page.

Choosing for how you run

Match the look to the job:

  • Race trailers: printed sponsor graphics earn their keep — the awning is on camera and in the stands' sightline all weekend.
  • Hospitality: clean team branding overhead sets the tone for sponsors and guests.
  • Display & vendor: bold, full-color graphics pull eyes from across a crowded lot.

Care & longevity

Whatever you choose, a little care goes a long way. Pack the cover dry when you can; if you have to stow it wet, air it out at home before it sits. Keep it in the included fabric storage bag between events, and rinse off track grime so it doesn't grind into the weave. Treated well, a printed awning holds its color and a solid cover stays crisp for years.
